Semester 2 Final Project
Plan:

I wanted to make a cookie jar instead of a player for my final. I drew out my idea first, before making anything with clay. This helped me save time because I knew exactly what I had to do going into the project. I also figured out the dimensions and shape of the slabs that I needed to cut, and make stencils for them, so pieces that I needed multiple of would be the same size. Once I had the dimensions and stencils this is what I did:
- wedge clay
- roll out slabs at approximately 3/8 inches thick
- use stencils to cut out right shapes
- bevel edges of slabs
- score and slip together
- smooth out edges
- fire and glaze

Reflection:
I like the shape of the box, as it does look like a VW vanagon, which was my goal , but I would have liked to add more detail. I drew on the windows and wheels, but I wanted to add them as 3D elements; however, due to time constraints I was unable to. The lid does not fit as well I wanted it to, but I knew that I would not be able to make a lid that sealed well. I have yet to glaze it.
